24/06/2009 Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei agreed to a proposal by the Constitutional Guardian Council on extension of deadline for considering complaints regarding presidential elections irregularities for another five days.

Secretary of the Constitutional Guardian Council Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati in a letter to Sayyed Khamenei said that the Council has been working hard to deal with the complaints received on the irregularities in the presidential elections.

He added that the deadline for investigating the complaints ends on Wednesday and proposed that the deadline extend for five more days so that all ambiguities can be removed.

The Supreme leader agreed to the proposal and ordered the Constitutional Guardian Council to proceed with the procedure.

Local daily Tehran Times has reported that the Guardian Council would announce its final position on the complaints about the election results on Wednesday.

Rioters have been staging protest since June 13 and causing ciaos across the country. Sayyed Khamenei said Iran will not "back down" in the face of protests. "In the recent incidents concerning the election, I have been insisting on the implementation of the law and I will be (insisting). Neither the system, nor the people will back down under force," his eminence said.

Meanwhile, Iranian Interior Minister Sadeq Mahsouli said that the protestors involved in the post- election violence were funded by the CIA and the exiled opposition group the People's Mujahedeen of Iran. "Many rioters are in touch with the Unites States, the CIA and the People's Mujahedeen and are being funded by their money," Mahsouli was quoted as saying.

He also accused "the Zionist occupying regime" of being among the masterminds of the unrest that was unleashed after the disputed re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The Government of Iran continues to hold itself accountable to the people by acting according to the rules and regulations. Now, it is time for the criminal rioters to account for what they have done. 24/06/2009 17:14:00

Bismillah errahman erraheem (In the name of God, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful). Iran has been holding free, fair and transparent elections since the collapse of that Satanical tyrannical regime of the Shah in 1979. We never had any problems until 2009. Why? Over 2 Billion Muslims and 53 Islamic countries look up to Iran as a role model in different areas including the legitimacy of its elections. The Holy Qur'an teaches us: "La taziro waziraton wizra ukhra" = No soul can carry the sins of another soul (Chapter 35 Verse 18). And accordingly, if any member of the government commits a crimes s/he must be proscuted and punished and so will you, I or any other citizen. Asalamu alaykom.
