Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Sunday that the Ministerial Statement is bound to happen at the end. Speaking during a religious ceremony at Beirut’s southern suburb, Sheikh Qassem emphasized a “preliminary satisfaction’ with the Resistance clause in the statement. “We previously agree on what’s to be mentioned in the statement and we will not fall in arguments and polemics,” his eminence said. “All those who are raising the Resistance issue are seeking to politically exploit it because we know that the majority of the Lebanese want the resistance to stay and to be strengthened,” Sheikh Qassem pointed out. Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General expressed belief the general atmosphere was positive and said the Resistance party wasn’t worried by the statements made by the March 14 Christians. “The statements are just positions taken for different considerations. We aren’t worried at all and we know that they have their audience and they should address it with a language they believe to be the appropriate one.” While saying that such discussions are delaying the finalization of the cabinet’s Ministerial Statement, Sheikh Qassem asserted that the statement would be issued at the end. "This resistance gave us pride, freed us and constitutes a deterring force against Israel. We will not be weakened by our own will," his eminence concluded.
