Zionist entity's border wallsThe Zionist entity is to start building a wall along part of the border between Lebanon and the occupied Palestine next week to shield the northern town of Metulla, ‘Israeli’ Channel 10 television reported Monday.

It said the wall, more than two kilometers (over a mile) long and 10 meters (33 feet) high, was also aimed at preventing clashes between the Zionist military and Lebanese border forces whose posts are often just meters (yards) apart.

The broadcaster claimed the Zionist entity had informed Lebanon of the wall project and would coordinate it through the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Lebanese authorities didn’t give any comment on the news.

Military sources said in January that the Zionist occupying entity was considering building a wall along a section of the 79-kilometre (49-mile) border, fearing cross-border sniper fire at newly built apartment blocks in Metulla.

Once it is finished, the Zionist entity will be almost completely enclosed by steel, barbed wire and concrete, leaving only the southern border with Jordan between the Dead and Red Seas without a physical barrier. That, too, may be fenced in the future.

Although Lebanon and the Zionist entity are technically in a state of war, both parties military officials meet regularly in the presence of UNIFIL peacekeepers to liaise on border issues.
