“We Must Capture Israeli Soldiers to Regain Our Detainees”

“We Must Capture Israeli Soldiers to Regain Our Detainees”

“Our experience with the Israeli enemy says that if we want to regain our detainees or to know the fate of the missing, we must capture Israeli soldiers” said Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah in November, 2005.

Our experience with the Israeli enemy says that if we want to regain our detainees or to know the fate of the missing, we must capture Israeli soldiers” said Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah in November, 2005.

This equation has proven efficiency through the past years, with all the freed Arab detainees in the Israeli jails have seen freedom through swap deals between the resistance movements and the Zionist entity.

Today, the world is witnessing a huge swap deal taking place, in which 477 Palestinian detainees have seen freedom in exchange for the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit who was captured by the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in 2006. Another 550 detainees will be freed later on, in a next stage of the deal.

This swap deal is the latest accord reached with the Zionist entity, and it holds the number of 38. Thousands of Arab detainees have seen freedom following swap deals that had taken place after capture operations achieved by resistance movements.

The major swap deals during the Arab-Israeli struggle:

The brightest deal was in 1983 when about 4700 Lebanese and Palestinian detainees were freed in from Ansar jail in south Lebanon in addition to 65 Palestinians from Israeli jails in the occupied Palestinian territories in exchange for six Israeli soldiers captured by Fatah movement.
In 1985, 1150 Lebanese and Palestinian detainees saw freedom in exchange for three Zionist soldiers captured by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

Later on, in 1991, 76 Lebanese detainees were freed from al-Kiam detention center. In exchange, the fate of two Israeli soldiers captured by Hezbollah was unveiled. The party then, handed over the corpses of the soldiers in exchange for 45 Lebanese detainees in 1996.

Hezbollah achieved a new victory in 1998 when it secured a deal with the Zionist entity, in which 60 Lebanese detainees and 28 corpses of resistance fighters were freed in exchange for the remains of an Israeli soldier killed in Ansariyyah operation in 1997.

Six years later, in 2004, 400 Palestinian and 23 Lebanese -including major figures Shiekh Abdul Karim Obeid and Mustafa ad-Dirani- were freed in exchange for 3 corpses of Israeli troops killed in an operation for the resistance in Sheba’a hills. In addition to the 423 freed detainees, 5 Syrians, 3 Moroccans, 3 Sudanese, one Libyan and one German also saw freedom.

Samir Kuntar and 3 others were freed in 2008 swap deal

In 2008, and two years after the brutal war launched by Israeli occupation forces in July,2006 in the pretext of capturing two Israeli soldiers, the last four Lebanese detainees were freed from the Israeli jails, including senior prisoner Samir Kuntar and three Mujahedeen abducted by the Israeli enemy during the 2006 war. In addition to the four Mujahedeen, remains of hundreds of Arab fighters were handed over. In exchange, the corpses of the two soldiers that the war was launched in their names were handed over.

These deals, along with the accord achieved today, have taught Zionist entity that the Israeli troops are under the reach of resistance heroes, who proved that this enemy doesn’t understand but the language of power.
