Houthi-Tribal Fighting in Yemen Kills 17 People

At least 17 people have been killed in two days of clashes between tribal gunmen and Houthi fighters in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa.

Tribesmen were currently mediating between the Hamdan tribe and Houthi militants in western Sanaa's Hamdan district.

Houthis control the northwestern Saada province and some areas of the Amran province, which is nearly 50km from Sanaa.

Yemen has remained in a state of chaos since the ouster of incumbent president Ali Abdullah Saleh in early 2012.

Earlier on Monday, a suspected Al-Qaeda terrorist, Abbad Mubarak Jabir, was killed in a US drone attack on his car in eastern Yemen, a local official said.
