Settlers Burn Olive Trees in Bil’in

Israeli settlers burnt yesterday dozens of olive trees planted in the territories of Bil’in village located behind the Apartheid Wall in the West of Ramallah.

Israeli  settlers burnt yesterday dozens of olive trees planted in the territories of Bil’in village located behind the Apartheid Wall in the West of Ramallah.

The Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlement said in a press release that massive fire broke out near the illegal settlement of Mitataaho based originally on the territories of the village.

Teams of the Palestinian civil defense immediately rushed to the scene to put out the fire, but Israeli soldiers exited near the gate of the Wall hindered them to access the land.

Moreover, Israeli soldiers prevented Palestinian citizens from entering the village to help the civil defense in order to put out the fire and started firing tear gases to disperse them.

The Popular committee Against the Wall in Bil’in held Israeli forces fully responsibility  for the incident and accused them of providing protection for those settlers.
