Syria securitySyrian warplanes raided six times since Saturday morning over the city of Tabaqa controlled by the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant', hours after ISIL failed attack on the city's military airport.

According to the opposition Human Rights Observatory, Syrian raids have targeted ISIL sites in Tabaqa, including its hospital, killing at least ten gunmen and wounding many others.

Earlier the night before, the Syrian army shelled other areas in the vicinity of Tabaqa airport, which coincided with battles between the army and ISIL that is trying to break into the airport since a few days ago.
Observatory said that "a suicide bomber of ISIL blew himself up at night by a vehicle bomb at the airport gate, making it the 'third' attack by militants at the place following military reinforcements delivered to ISIL to Tabaqa and the Deir Ezzor province, east of Syria.

In Mid-August, battles between the army and the gunmen broke out in the vicinity of the airport before ISIL launched an attack on the  military place on Tuesday evening, and another on Thursday dawn when two suicide bombings blew themselves up, but ISIL is still unable to make any progress on ground, according to the Observatory.

Between Wednesday and Friday, dozens of ISIL gunmen were killed as the Observatory noted that 150 gunmen were wounded only during the last day of battles.
