Ansarullah Rejects G10 Message: Do Not Support Corrupt

Yemeni Ansarullah group rejected on Wednesday the message delivered by the Group 10 ambassadors sponsoring the Gulf initiative to finalize the political transitional phase in the country.

Yemen: Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-HouthiYemeni Ansarullah group rejected on Wednesday the message delivered by the Group 10 ambassadors sponsoring the Gulf initiative to finalize the political transitional phase in the country.

The G10 group (permanent member states in the United Nations Security Council and the Gulf Cooperation Council) urged Ansarullah to participate in the political process in Yemen.

In a statement issued following the G10 message, Ansarullah asked the latter to respect the will of the Yemeni people to live in dignity and to completely disassociate themselves from supporting what it called "forces of power and corruption."

"This bad situation," the statement read, "is due to the lack of knowledge about the political reality," asserting its determination to continue protest actions until toppling the government and cancelling the resolution of lifting subsidies on oil derivatives, as well as implementing the clauses agreed upon during the national dialogue.

Ansarulla statement said that addressing Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi in person is a conspiracy, which tries to detach the Yemeni group from Ansarullah.

Yemen has been dogged by turmoil since anti-regime protests forced autocratic president Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down in 2012 after 33 years in power.

Several rounds of subsequent fighting in Yemen have left thousands dead.
