Egypt’s Mursi Will Visit US Next September

Egyptian President Mohammad MursiEgypt's President Mohammad Mursi, the country's first civilian and Islamist head of state, will visit the United States on September 23, his spokesman and state television reported on Wednesday.

"Mursi will visit the United States on September 23," the state-owned Nile News television said in a news alert.

His spokesman Yassir Ali told Agence France Presse that Mursi will visit the United Nations General Assembly in New York, but a meeting with his US counterpart Barack Obama "is not yet confirmed."
