President Rouhani: Iran’s Economic Relations with EU to Develop

While receiving Latvian visiting Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics, Rouhani said that policy of Iran’s new government is development of ties with friendly countries and détente in international arena, adding that settlement of world and regional problems would be achieved by joint cooperation among countries.

According to the report of the Presidential Office Website on Wednesday evening, President Rouhani said that Latvia is among countries with which Iran has good relations, and continued that we want development of ties with Latvia and there is no obstacle in this way from Iranian side.

Rouhani said that Iran had always had good relations with the European Union (EU) and by referring to nuclear talks between Iran and Group 5+1, said that our negotiation will continue to access to final and comprehensive agreement, adding that Iran intends to reach a desirable conclusion and we are confident that the other side also has the same intension.

President Rouhani referred to the issue of terrorism and radicalism in the region and world and its consequences in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria and said that terrorism and radicalism are among issues that need all-out cooperation of all countries and that Iran is ready for dialogue and cooperation with Latvia in all fields.

Edgars Rinkevics, for his part, conveyed greetings of Latvia president to his Iranian counterpart and called his talks with Iranian senior officials “Good.”

Referring to Latvia rotating chairmanship on the European Union in next year, Rinkevics expressed hope that Iran’s cooperation in bilateral level and in the framework of the EU can develop. He praised Iran’s success and progress in the nuclear talks and expressed hope that a full and comprehensive success can be achieved in nuclear talks.
