A suicide attack at Bab Touma neighborhood in the old central Damascus has left four people martyred on Thursday, according to the Syrian state TV.

A suicide attack at Bab Touma neighborhood in the old central Damascus has left four people martyred on Thursday, according to the Syrian state TV.

Several people were injured in the attack near Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. Some shops were damaged as well in the blast.

Reports said that the bomber was wearing a suicide belt when he blew himself up outside the church.

The militant groups in Syria have been targeting civilians and worship houses since the beginning of the crisis which left more than ninety thousand dead, according to the UN.
