The Iranian Army's Ground Forces General Kioumars Heydari stated on Saturday that the Iranian Ground Forces has successfully test-fired three types of surface to surface missiles developed by the Iranian Army.

Missile testFars News Agency quoted Heydari as saying that “three types of missiles developed by the Army and the Defense Industries have been successfully test-fired in the Ground Force's recent war games."

The Iranian official further stated on Saturday that “the Ground Force will unveil its new personnel carriers during the parades to be staged throughout the country on the National Army Day on April 18. “

As he pointed out that these "ground-to-ground missiles are different from the Naze'at 10 and Fajr missiles in type,” Heydari said “the missiles were test-fired during the first day of the Army's ground drills around Kashan (Isfahan Province) some 340 km South of the Iranian capital.”

Iranian officials had repeatedly stressed that all of Iran’s military exercises and trainings are merely meant to serve deterrent purposes.

From here, Heydari responded to Western threats against Iran, saying: “We also have our deterrence choice on the table, and just as the leader of the Islamic Revolution (Imam Ali Khamenei) previously announced, if the enemy committed any folly and attack, it will face a harsh and destructive response.”
