Local Editor

Sheikh Nimr Al-NimrSaudi prosecution demanded in a hearing that took place on Monday, “death by crucifixion" for Sheikh Nimr Baqir Al-Nimr, 55 years old, who has been arrested since last summer for opposing the Saudi regime.

Saudi media reported that the prosecution demanded “death + crucifixion” for Sheikh Al-Nimr after accusing him of “igniting sectarian incitements” and “aiding terorrists”, as well as "offending Gulf leaders and scholars” and “waging war on God”.

For his part, Sheikh Al-Nimr requested a period of time to respond to the list of accusations, after having received it during the hearing, and to appoint a defense lawyer.
