A dispute erupted between an Internal Security Forces (ISF) unit and the son of Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir in South Lebanon’s Sidon on Sunday leaving three killed and around 4 injured, the National News Agency reported.

In details, after ISF members ordered Omar al-Assir to stop his car after failing to produce registration at an entry checkpoint in Sidon and because his car’s glasses were dark without having a license to do so. Then, five cars carrying around 13 armed men arrived and freed Omar “by force.”

Afterwards, the armed men carried Assir’s son to Bilal bin Rabah mosque in the city of Sidon.

The Lebanese army then deployed in the streets of Taamir-Ain El-Helwe in Sidon and calm was restored in the region until Al-Assir's militants began firing heavily on residential buildings surrounding Abra region in Sidon, Al-Manar correspondent said.

Security sources told Al-Manar TV that the Lebanese army took the decision to deal with fire against any militancy in the city of Sidon.
