Israeli Enemy Kidnaps Two Lebanese Shepherds

Israeli enemy kidnaps two Lebanese shepherds in another flagrant violation to Lebanese sovereignty, amid suspicious silence

The Israeli enemy committed on Tuesday another flagrant violation to the Lebanese sovereignty by kidnapping two Lebanese shepherds, without getting any international condemnation…
The operation, which was confirmed by the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), highlighted once again the double standards of the international community.

Everyone still remembers the Israeli July 2006 war against Lebanon, the war which was believed by the international community as "justified" because two Israeli soldiers were captured by Hezbollah. Yet, Israel has the right to kidnap Lebanese citizens and shepherds whenever it wants, and no one has the right to just denounce the move.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to a statement issued by the Lebanese national army, the Israeli enemy has kidnapped two Lebanese shepherds in the southern town of Rmeish near the border with the occupied territories.

The two kidnapped shepherds were identified as Leon Al-Alam and Mohamad Zahra.

The army statement said the incident constitutes an attack on Lebanese sovereignty and a detention of citizens’ freedom. It noted that the army and the UNIFIL forces were conducting a series of intensive contacts in a bid to immediately release the two shepherds.

UNIFIL AWARE
Earlier, the National News Agency (NNA) quoted UNIFIL spokesman Niraj Singh as confirming the incident. He said the Israeli army informed UN peacekeepers that they arrested the shepherds at 10:15 am after they allegedly crossed the UN-drawn Blue Line.

The peacekeeping command is investigating the incident and is in contact with Israel over the issue, Singh said, while stressing that UNIFIL Commander Major General Alberto Asarta urged the Zionist entity to release the shepherds.
