Despite Tripoli Ceasefire, Sporadic Clashes Take Place as Death Toll Rises

Despite a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon’s Tripoli, sporadic clashes still taking place on Thursday, with the death toll of the fight in the last days rises.lebanese army in tripoli

Al-Manar Correspondent, Fadi Mansour, said that the Lebanese army was re-deploying in the neighborhoods of the area.
He noted that there some militants from outside the area who were trying to breach the ceasefire, as he stressed that both sides in Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh confirmed they were committed to the halt the fight.

Mansour reported that 12 people were wounded overnight on Wednesday after the ceasefire went into effect; three of them were from Jabal Mohsen.

He added that the death toll of the clashes which took place since Monday rose to 12 people, adding that the toll of the wounded has exceeded the hundred.

Our correspondent also reported that the army troops were deploying in the neighborhoods of Tripoli, noting that snipers were existed on the roofs of the building.

“Since the ceasefire went into effect at least 50 Energa rockets were used in the area,”  Mansour said on Thursday.
