March 14 Seeks ‘Historic Day’… Berri: They’re Striving for Power!

March 14 continues ’mobilization’ strategy on eve of March 13 rally

A few days ahead of the ‘awaited day’, the remains of the so-called March 14 forces continue ‘mobilizing’ their supporters in order to produce what they call another ‘historic day’ on Sunday, even if the ‘price’ that should be paid was ‘inciting’ Lebanese against each other.

That’s it. All necessary ‘weapons’ to achieve success in Sunday’s rally were made ‘legal’ by the so-called March 14 forces which declared ‘war’ on the Resistance and its arms. Their ‘justification’ is more than ‘convincing’. Indeed, they’re striving for power, not seeking justice…

CAMPAIGN CONTRADICTS WITH PRINCIPLES
According to Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, the March 14 bloc was frustrated over the collapse of Saad Hariri's cabinet and was striving for power not justice in former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri's assassination case.

While receiving lawmakers as part of the weekly Wednesday Meeting, Berri criticized the ‘war’ launched by the March 14 forces against the Resistance and its arms. He said the mentioned campaign contradicted with national principles and rules.

The Speaker also stressed the need to form the government as soon as possible in order to face future challenges and solve problems such as shortage of water and power rationing.

LET’S PRODUCE HISTORIC DAY
Meanwhile, the so-called March 14 Secretariat General held a meeting on Wednesday in which it addressed the final preparation for the Bristol meeting that will be scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

In a statement it issued following the meeting, the March 14 Secretariat General renewed calls to participate in Sunday’s rally. "You are invited to make a new historic day so that it will pave the way for the future that you aspire to," it said, addressing its supporters. "You will assert you rejection of the policies of intimidation, assassinations, and violence in managing political life."

The secretariat general stressed that the rally will also reiterate its commitment to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, without commenting on the reports which proved the mentioned tribunal was fully politicized.

It didn’t forget to assail the Resistance and its arms. In this context, it urged its supporters to take part in the rally to reiterate their commitment to what it called the state's right to be the only authority entitled to possess weapons in the country.

HARIRI AGAINST ARMY-RESISTANCE-PEOPLE BALANCE!
One day earlier, the head of the caretaker government Saad Hariri didn’t hesitate to declare his refusal to the army-resistance-people balance, the balance which appeared in the policy statements of his two governments.

"I listened to Speaker Nabih Berri saying that we have abandoned the 'army-people-resistance equation,' and the truth is that there are some who want this equation to be above the will of the State," Hariri claimed.

"We're with the army-people-resistance equation if it remains under the State's authority, but we will reject it when some assume that the army, the people and the State are tools in their hands," he went on to say.
