Khader Adnan arrived late Tuesday to his home town Arraba in the West Bank after he was released from the Israeli occupation prisons.

Adnan, who forced the enemy to release him by going on a 66 day hunger strike, made visits to the captives’ families and then made a statement before crowds that gathered to welcome him, speaking in it about the food strike battle and greeting the Palestinian captives who began a strike Tuesday.

“Hamas, (Islamic) Jihad, and Fatah have pledged not to retract from this strategic strike,” the freed Palestinian captive said, adding: “I ask the Red Cross to get its medical staff, and I tell the world that the Palestinians are revolting against detention, and will continue their strike until achieving their just demands.”

Palestinian captives have begun on Tuesday, which marked the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day, a food strike in protest of the occupation’s solitary confinement policy and for being prevented from family visits.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization has called for a wide campaign in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners, and said in a statement that “Israel is practicing the harshest methods of detention and insults against 4,600 prisoners, including 180 children and six women. It has used them take revenge from the Palestinian people and their will to attain freedom and independence, as well as establishing their independent state with its capital Al-Quds.”

In parallel, the Palestinian Prime Minister in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh called upon all the Palestinian factions to put plans and programs for providing the required funds to free the prisoners.

“Freeing the prisoners is a national, legal, and moral duty that should not be neglected,” he said, adding: “It had been proven that resistance is the only tool for freeing prisoners”.
