Khadija Mohammad Al-Abbas died after the Bahraini security forces, backed by the GCC forces attacked a demonstration in Maamir with toxic and tear gases, causing several injuries and asphyxiations.

Protests that call for the freedom of rights activist Abdul Hadi Khawaja and other arrested activists continue in Bahrain, as “Bahrain Forum for Human Rights” stressed that the International Community holds the full responsibility of Khawaja’s state of health.

The Forum’s Secretary Baqer Darwish was quoted as saying on his Twitter account that “Khawaja’s health relapse is also a relapse in the international conscience”.

“I don’t know how Khawaja’s case will develop, but I’m certain that whether he was alive or dead, free or imprisoned, he will be able to raise the level of challenge,” Darwish said, indicating that “the authority hates Khawaja because he was bold in demanding justice. This explains the abusive arrest and the intense torture that he was subjected to.”
