Haniyeh from Iran: Holy Quds, Our Top Priority

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said Sunday that the first priority of the Palestinian nation is to preserve the Holy Quds and repel threats to it.

Haniyeh, while addressing a joint press conference with Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi in Tehran, said that alleviating Gazans' sufferings and pains is the Palestinians' next priority.

He noted, as he wounded up his three-day visit to Iran, that the fate of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails is the third source of concern for the Palestinian nation.

During talks between Haniyeh and Iranian officials there had been talks on the Palestinian prisoners and Zionist regime's brutalities, especially after arrest of Palestinian National Assembly Speaker Adnan Khater who has gone on a hunger strike, according to Iran’s state agency IRNA.

On current events and Islamic Awakening in regional states, Haniyeh said the Islamic Awakening is a move in favor of the Palestinian nation, noble Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque.

He said in all his meetings and talks it became once again clear to Palestinians that Iranian leadership and nation hold firm stances in support of Palestinians and total liberation of their lands.

“Iran considers Palestine as an ideological issue and is committed to it practically under all conditions,” he indicated hailing Iran for supporting the Palestinian nation, resistance and government.
