Lebanon FM Says Lebanon Has Yet to Decide on Syria Stance

Lebanon FM told Al-Manar TV that Lebanon has yet to determine the stance concerning the Syrian situation during the Arab FM’s meet

Lebanon Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour told Al-Manar television station on Tuesday that Lebanon has yet to determine the state’s stance concerning the Syrian situation during the Arab foreign ministers’ meeting.

“We are still carrying out consultations but up till now, there’s no decision on Syria yet,” Mansour said.

Mansour stressed that Lebanon will not be excluded from the Arab decision, adding: “We need to know what the Arab stance is and if it is in Syria’s interest” since that any decision that will influence Syria’s stability will also influence Lebanon.

“We welcome criticism and we did not cross the line with the statements we made at the Arab League," Mansour indicated.

The FM regretted the Syrian National Council statement that it wants to “again study the agreements between Lebanon and Syria and ink new ones which would take into account the interests of both countries, as well as common benefits.”

The Arab League announced Saturday the suspension of its observer mission in Syria because of the “upsurge in violence”.
