An Arab League’s foreign ministers meeting that was scheduled to take place this weekend on Syria was delayed

An Arab League’s foreign ministers meeting that was scheduled to take place this weekend on Syria proposal to let observers enter the country in exchange for ending sanctions was delayed, the Arab League announced late Thursday.

The Arab League's number two Ahmad Ben Helli said a meeting of the Arab task force in charge of the Syrian crisis will take place in Doha, instead of Cairo, on Saturday.

However, he said, negotiations would continue with Damascus to convince it to sign the Arab plan.

On Thursday, the pan-Arab organization’s secretary-general Nabil al-Arabi again met in Cairo with representatives of the so-called Syrian opposition.

Syria said on Sunday it will allow observers into the country as part of an Arab peace plan to end the crisis on condition of preserving Syria’s sovereignty and lifting sanctions.
