Erdogan Supports Panetta Remarks on Israel Isolation

Turkish Prime Minister backed the US Pentagon Chief’s remarks concerning the isolation of Israel as saying “the American official was correct in his “assumptions”.

Speaking with reporters at Ataturk International Airport prior to his visit to South Africa, Recep Tayyip Ergodan said that "Israel has chosen isolation by losing a friend like Turkey.

"It is not the people of Israel but the government of Israel that has chosen isolation," foreign news agencies quoted him as saying. "Our statements on Israel do not target the people of Israel or the Jewish citizens of Turkey," he continued. "It is the Israeli government to which we make statements."

Erdogan also concurred with Leon Panetta's statement that "Israel should improve its relations with Turkey."

Panetta earlier on Sunday warned that that the Zionist entity was becoming increasingly isolated in the Middle East.
“It's pretty clear, at this dramatic time in the Middle East when there have been so many changes, that it is not a good situation for Israel to become increasingly isolated. And that is what has happened", Panetta told reporters ahead of his visit to the Middle East.

Panetta on Monday paid a visit to the Zionist entity. On Tuesday the US Defense Secretary was on his way to Cairo.
