According to the elections headquarters, 136 nominees are running for 68 seats in Iran's 290-seat parliament.

The candidates are competing to secure seats for 55 constituencies in which no candidate achieved a clear majority during the February general elections.

About 17 million voters are eligible to go to the ballot boxes for the run-off elections across the country.

There will be no run-off vote in the capital, Tehran, as the candidates close to the President Hasan Rouhani gained all the 30 seats in February.
