The activists are seeking to collect significant number of signatures on the petition from people all around the world in a bid to gain the needed recognition to be dealt with in the international Criminal Court.

Yemen has been since March 26, 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition.

Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.

The global petition cites some statistics carried out by the Legal Center for Human Development till the date of January 19, 2016.

The statistics show that 8143 Yemeni have been killed in air and land attacks including 4628 men, 1519 women and 1996 children.

The aggression has left 15184 people wounded including 11826 men, 1576 women and 1782 children. It has also displaced more than 1200000 Yemenis inside the country and left refugees outside borders due to Saudi attacks, according to the statistics.

The petition meanwhile, noted that the Saudi-led aggression has been targeting hospitals and medical centers, including the UN’s Doctors without borders, and using internationally-banned weapons.

In addition to these acts, the Saudi-led coalition is endangering the lives of Yemenis by total besieging and not allowing the humanitarian aid to get into the country, the petition said, noting to the huge destruction inflicted upon the Yemeni infrastructure.
