Rouhani: Saudis Cannot Hide Beheading Opponents by Severing Ties

The Iranian president Hasan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Saudi government cannot conceal beheading the opponents and the prominent cleric by severing diplomatic relations with Iran.

RouhaniThe Iranian president Hasan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Saudi government cannot conceal beheading the opponents and the prominent cleric by severing diplomatic relations with Iran.

Referring to the execution of Saudi prominent cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, he said in response to criticism should not be beheading.

Rouhani expressed the hope that European governments, the so-called advocates of human rights, should react promptly and carry out their humanitarian duties.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has very good relations with its neighbors, he said adding that it goes without saying that crime against Islamic Umma and human rights violations will be responded by the world public opinion.

Saudi government has made a very odd measure to conceal its crimes and has severed diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran but in fact such measures cannot hide such a big crime, Rouhani said.

Iran believes that diplomacy and negotiations are the best way to remove differences and the current status in the region requires all countries to have close cooperation in fight with terrorism, he said.

He said that fighting terrorism could be part of cooperation between Iran and other European states, he said adding that Tehran is ready to broaden cooperation with other countries as well as the European Union states, in particular.

Iran would make efforts to fight terrorism and lead the world free from violence and extremism at the United Nations General Assembly, Rouhani said.
