Iran Proposes Sending Peacekeeping Basij to Britain

Condemning the outrageous suppression the British authorities are exercising on peaceful demonstrators, Iran said it was ready to send Iranian peacekeeping forces to London.

Al-Vefagh Iranian newspaper reported that “Mobilization of the Oppressed” organization chief Mohammad Reza Naqdi said that Tehran was ready to send “Ashura” and “Al-Zahraa” mobilization brigades to London as peacekeeping forces.

In a statement he delivered Thursday before a group of the organization’s leaders, Naqdi harshly criticized regarding the protestors in Britain as “thieves” by some officials, and said: “Unfortunately the crimes and violent practices by the tyrant monarchy continue against the oppressed people in that country, and all the advices given to the regime’s officials and police about the cruel practices did not leave any effect, but we rather heard them dubbing the oppressed people thieves and troublemakers.”

He pointed out that “with the presence of four million and 600 thousand Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) installations in Britain, one million of them in London, it is not clear why can’t they uncover those who they name thieves and arrest them.”

In addition, the mobilization chief criticized the Security council’s stance “as it did not give any concern to those demanding their rights in Britain, and rather supported the arrogant government.”

The paper further quoted Naqdi as saying: “The so-called International Security Council that only works on supporting the arrogant ones and releasing resolutions against the free ones, is not expected to support the oppressed people in Britain.”

The Iranian official reassured that the mobilization is ready to send peacekeeping brigades that would separate between the monarchy’s forces and the British people, in order to preserve human rights and prevent violence.

Moreover, he called upon the International community to send peacekeeping forces and Human Rights Monitors to London.
