Iran Summons Saudi Diplomat after 3 Nationals Executed

Iran has summoned Saudi Arabia’s charge d’affaires in Tehran after the Gulf kingdom executed three Iranians convicted of drug trafficking.

The Saudi diplomat, Ahmad Al-Muwaled, “was reminded on his government's international commitments under the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Rights,” Iran's official IRNA news agency reported.Iran and Saudi flags

The Saudi government was also urged to prevent repetition of violating its international commitments regarding the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to IRNA.

Al-Muwaled said he will shortly convey the views and protest of the government of Iran to his respective government, the agency added.

Earlier last month, Lebanon arrested a Saudi prince over seizure of two tons of captagon in his private jet. Prince Abdel Mohsen Bin Walid Bin Abdulaziz confessed that the jet was heading to Hai’l in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, a Saudi political activist, Mujtahid, disclosed in his latest tweets that Hai’l has become a center that imports and exports drugs and with full immunity because Hai’l is under the rule of Prince Saud Bin Abdel Mohsen who is the uncle of the detained prince in Beirut.
