Oman Announces It Facilitated Release of Six Foreigners in Yemen

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said that six people detained in Sanaa by Yemeni security forces have been released and brought to the sultanate so as to facilitate their return to their countries

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said that six people detained in Sanaa by Yemeni security forces have been released and brought to the sultanate so as to facilitate their return to their respective countries.

Omani delegationThe release of the six detained persons follows Royal Orders issued by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the concerned Omani authorities to coordinate with their Yemeni counterparts and facilitate the safe return of the detainees, the statement said.

Those released included two Americans, three Saudis and a Briton. All six were brought to Muscat on Monday evening from Sanaa on-board a Royal Air Force of Oman aircraft. The MoFA statement added that the six persons would soon depart for their respective countries from Muscat.
