Iran's foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif said Sunday that Washington has to stop any actions by the Congress against the nuclear deal between Tehran and major powers.

"In our view, any measures in violation of JCPOA by Congress should be stopped by the United States government," AFP news agency quoted Zarif as saying.

"This government, as well as future US governments, is obliged to implement JCPOA, in case it is implemented," Iran’s top diplomat said.

Zarif added that Iran is presently awaiting the completion of the procedure to implement the JCPOA and was quite ready to carry on with it.

Meanwhile, he noted that ran regarded the present and next presidents of the United Nations responsible for implementing the JCPOA and their refusal to do so would be unjustifiable at any accounts, IRNA news agency reported.

For his part, the Brazilian Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, congratulated Zarif on the nuclear agreement with the 5+1 and described it as a victory for diplomacy and a point of departure in the history.

He further stressed the importance of exchanging delegations and said both countries favored expansion of relations.
