North Korea Resumes Border Propaganda Broadcasts: South

South Korea said on Monday that its neighbor, the North, loudspeaker propaganda broadcasts across their heavily militarized border.

Pyongyang followed Seoul which turned the loudspeakers back on last week in retaliation for a landmine attack that maimed two of its soldiers while on a border patrol. South Korea accuses the North of being responsible for the attack, but Pyongyang denies such claim. Two Koreas

"North Korea resumed its own propaganda campaign using loudspeakers today at a site in the eastern section of the border," a South Korean defense ministry spokesman told AFP.

The two Koreas had blasted propaganda messages at each other across the border for years before the practice was discontinued by mutual agreement in 2004 during a period of rapprochement.
