ISIL, Nusra Terrorists Flee Syrian Army in Daraa, Suffer Major Losses in Aleppo

Units of the Syrian army continued targeting terrorist organizations in various areas, inflicting more casualties and material losses among their ranks.

In Daraa, an army unit damaged a vehicle belonging to terrorists, killing all those on board, as it targeted it to the east of al-Sheikh Hussein hill near the border between Daraa and Sweida provinces in southern Syria, a military source told SANA on Wednesday.

In a similar development, a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured last night to the south of the Electricity Company in Daraa al-Balad neighborhood in the city.

In Aleppo, another army unit targeted movements of al-Nusra Front terrorists in Dweir al-Zaitoun and Tallet al-Mallah in the northern countryside of Aleppo province, killing scores of the terrorists and destroying a number of their vehicles that were equipped with machine guns and a bulldozer.
Another army unit killed and injured a number of terrorists and destroyed their vehicles in Khan Touman area in the western countryside of the province.

Al-Nusra terrorists suffered losses in personnel and equipment during special army operations against their assembly points in the surroundings of al-Nairab airport in the southeastern countryside of the province.

A number of terrorists of the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group were killed in the vicinity of the Air Force Academy, about 40 km to the east of Aleppo city.

Also in Aleppo city, army units destroyed positions of al-Nusra-linked terrorists in the neighborhoods of Bani Zaid, al-Salehin, al-Khaldiyeh, al-Shaar, Alliramoun, Bustan al-Qasr and al-Rashideen.

In Lattakia, units of the army eliminated ten terrorists and destroyed a number of their vehicles in the villages of al-Wata, Burj Zahya, al-Kindasia and al-Furlug in northern Lattakia countryside.

Moreover, informed sources in the coastal province of Lattakia told Fars news agency that the Syrian army have gained the upper hand against the militant groups in parts of the Northern battlefields in Lattakia province.

The sources said that several militants were killed or wounded in the Syrian army's operations in Frunluq Forests and al-Azer Mountain.

The sources added that the army has launched mop-up operations in the above-mentioned fighting areas to haunt the rest of the rebel fighters.

In Zabadani, Hezbollah killed Nusra commander in the city, Abdol Rahim Kharita, after targeting a terrorist gathering by an oriented missile.  

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 230,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.
