Ibrahim Kalin told a news conference in Ankara that Turkey would work with the United Nations Human Rights Commission following the sentences, and would take "all necessary steps".

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan is known for being a vocal supporter of Mursi and the Muslim Brotherhood.

On Saturday, an Egyptian court sought the death penalty for Mursi and 106 supporters of the Brotherhood in connection with a mass jail break in 2011.
