Syria’s Mikdad: Bet on Breaking Syria-Iran Alliance has Failed

Syrian Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad affirmed that the bet on breaking the Syria-Iran alliance has failed.

Syrian Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad affirmed that the bet on breaking the Syria-Iran alliance has failed.

MikdadSpeaking to al-Manar TV channel in an interview Thursday night, Mikdad said some countries have been betting on breaking the alliance between Syria and Iran and the Axis of Resistance, stressing that those attempts are futile.

“And here are the Resistance and Syria making further advances and successes every day,” said Mikdad, stressing that Syria’s victory in the internationally-led war waged against it would give “a hard lesson” to those who try to use terrorists and killers to achieve political goals.

“We are not afraid of any threats, and those who try to undermine Syria’s sovereignty and independence will find that the response of the Syrian people and army and Syria’s friends would be sweeping,” he added.

Mikdad stressed that Syria is proud of its alliance with the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement whose “heroes have sacrificed their souls to defend Syria’s sovereignty,” as it is proud of the strategic relations with Iran and Russia.
