Moreover, units of the army continued military operations against terrorists in the western mountains of al-Zabadani and establish control over “Shueib al-Ald” and “1715” sites in Damascus Countryside.

In Homs, military operations continued against militants of the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group in the far east of the central Homs province, leaving many terrorists killed and their vehicles and weapons destroyed in Unq al-Hawa town and the village of Rahhoum, according to a military source.

The army also killed terrorists and destroyed their weapons and ammunition in the villages of Hawadit, al-Salehiya, Masaada, al-Msheirfeh and in Jeb al-Jarrah in the eastern countryside of the province.

An army unit carried out a concentrated operation against terrorists’ gatherings in the surrounding area of Taldo village, where dozens of terrorists were killed or injured.

In Quneitra, amy units destroyed three terrorists’ hideouts and a mortar launcher belonging to al-Nusra Front terrorists in Mas’hara village and to the northwest of Tal Ahmar site in the countryside of the southern Quneitra province.

In Daraa, units of the army and armed forces killed scores of al-Nusra terrorists in Jalin, Dael and Tafas in the countryside of the southern Daraa province, and thwarted two infiltration attempts into secured areas in Daraa al-Balad in the city.

Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the western media reports accuse countries, mainly the USA, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar of orchestrating the civil conflict in the country and providing terrorist groups with money, weapons and trained mercenaries.

On May 2011, Syrian army launched a wide-scale operation against armed groups and gunmen operating in the country, who started to escape the army blows and infiltrate illegally to Lebanon.
