Twitter announced it is working with law enforcement officials on a recent threat against Twitter employees, with specific threats against Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey the company’s founder posted online by supporters of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

twitter“Our security team is investigating the veracity of these threats with relevant law enforcement officials,” Jim Prosser, a Twitter spokesman, said on Monday.

The announcement came against the backdrop of a threat in Arabic posted online on Sunday addressing Twitter’s founder Jack Dorsey for removing ISIL’s accounts.

Members of ISIL have sent thousands of tweets a day trying to recruit members to join the terrorist group.

In response to the recruitment online, Twitter blocked the accounts of ISIL members. An image appeared of Dorsey on the site justpaste.it with a crosshairs over the picture.

“Your virtual war on us will cause a real war on you,” read the post.

“We told you from the beginning it’s not your war, but you didn’t get it and kept closing our accounts on Twitter, but we always come back,” continued the post, which was written in Arabic. “But when our lions come and take your breath, you will never come back to life.”

ISIS has threatened Twitter employees before. At a conference last fall, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo spoke about being threatened by members of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
