Bahrain: Sheikh Salman houseBahraini security forces attacked on Monday the house of the Secretary General of the powerful opposition group Al-Wefaq, Sheikh Ali Salman, and took off the photos and slogans raised in the place, the group website reported.

Al-Wefaq considered the attack as "a provocative step that violates the law and the sanctity of the (Sheikh's) home," revealing that the place is being daily attacked by hundreds of different bullets and gas bombs, which "damage the home and hurt the family."

It also indicated that "the attack has followed previous attacks against Al-Wefaq Secretary General, when security personnel were dispatched to remove surveillance cameras. Another attack was carried out by masked civilians, as admitted by the Interior Ministry."

The Religious Freedoms Department official at the Bahraini Observatory for Human Rights, Sheikh Maytham Salman, said  the attack is a proof of the regime's failure and bankruptcy, that imply the level of frustration and confusion of the official bodies.

In a statement issued after the attack, the official said "this backward attitude" has followed the "authorities' failure to legally cover the malicious case filed against Sheikh Ali Salman," and the regime's inability "to stop the local and international condemnations, as well as its inability to respond to the UN demands to release Sheikh Salman immediately."

Since 2011, Bahraini revolution started with peaceful protests calling for political reforms and social equality, but were faced with violent crackdown by the regime forces.

At least 89 Bahrainis have been killed in clashes with security forces, including kids women and elderly people, while hundreds have been fired from jobs, arrested and put on trial.
