ISIL Removes Cleric over Objection to Pilot’s Killing

A cleric of the so-called ’Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) terrorist group, who objected to the decision to burn to death a captive Jordanian pilot, has been removed from his post.

Syria: ISIL terroristsA cleric of the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group, who objected to the decision to burn to death a captive Jordanian pilot, has been removed from his post, the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Friday.

The cleric, a Saudi national, will be also put on trial after he voiced his objections during a meeting of an ISIL clerical body in al-Bab region of  Aleppo province, Reuters quoted the Observatory’s Rami Abdulrahman as saying.

ISIL issued a video on Tuesday showing pilot Mouath al-Kasasbeh being burned to death.

The killing was widely denounced by Muslim clerics as un-Islamic action that contradicts with Muslim religious norms.

Abdulrahman suggested that the group may now kill the Saudi cleric after he had said those responsible for the killing of the pilot should face trial.
