Israeli daily, Maariv, accused on Tuesday al-Manar Website of “fanning flames” between the United States and the Zionist entity over a story posted by the Lebanese website.

Israeli daily, Maariv, accused on Tuesday al-Manar Website of “fanning flames” between the United States and the Zionist entity over a story posted by the Lebanese website.

Al-Manar Website cited the satirical and comedy website, The Israeli Daily, as jokingly saying that President Barack Obama removed PM Benjamin Netanyahu from his friend list on Facebook, in an indication to the icy relationship between the two allies.Obama and Netanyahu

Maariv described al-Manar’s story as “an attempt to provide cheap propaganda,” noting that our website “is trying to drive wedge” between Obama and Netanyahu.

The Israeli paper wondered: “Is Lebanese press trying to drive a wedge between US President and the Israeli Prime Minister?”

“At least when it comes to Al Manar network, the answer is probably yes.”

“The website, as a joke, in an attempt to provide a cheap propaganda, claimed on his homepage that "the Israeli newspaper today revealed the rift, making clear that the US President did the worst thing possible on Facebook - deleting Netanyahu from his friends list,” Mariv added.

The Israeli daily admitted that the Israeli-US “relations have witnessed better days in the past, both between countries and between the leaders.”

However, it added that “the Lebanese Website decided to take sides in the friction between the two and fanned the flames.”
