Bahrain Regime Forces Raid House of Ayatollah Issa Qassem

Bahrain’s Al-Khalifa regime forces raided the house of the chairman of the Ulama council, Ayatollah Sheikh Issa al-Qassem.

Bahrain’s Al-Khalifa regime forces raided the house of the chairman of the Ulama council, Ayatollah Sheikh Issa al-Qassem.

Witnesses reported the attack, adding that the residents of the house were scared as the regime forces took photos of the ID cards of everyone who was inside the house in Diraz, west of the capital Manama.

Ayatollah Sheikh Issa al-QassemThe attack by the regime’s armed forces is the latest provocative move by Al Khalifa regime against religious figures in the country.

Sheikh Qassem is the highest religious figure in Bahrain, he is also considered the spiritual leader of the main opposition party, al-Wefaq.

For its part, the Wefaq denounced the attack as “foolish and criminal,” saying that the regime is responsible for the repercussions of the raid.

“The repetition of the attack is deliberate… and aimed at targeting the entire people of the country,” the opposition association said, noting that the decision of the attack was taken by the country’s high authority.

The raid comes just a few days after the country witnessed parliamentary elections which were popularly boycotted.
