"The big states and the region's countries have wasted three and a half years that were replete with dangers and carnage," he indicated.

Echoing Qassem, de Mistura, who was accompanied by the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Derek Plumbly, corroborated that the solution on Syria should be based on the political one.

He said that his visit to Hezbollah came within the framework of ongoing consultations and communication with all sides that could contribute to reaching a solution in the region, especially in Syria.
