Israeli occupation forces killed two Palestinians claiming they are suspects in the June killing of three Israeli settlers, an incident that sparked Israeli violence against Palestinians in both West Bank and Gaza.

"Overnight, Amer Abu Aisha and Marwan Qawame… were killed in exchange of fire with" IOF forces, army spokesman Peter Lerner said on his Twitter account.IOF

For its part, Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas confirmed the Israeli attack, with spokesman abroad, Hussam Barduan, saying: "Two members of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Amar Abu-Eisha and Marwan Kawasmeh, were martyred after a long life of sacrifice and giving.”

“This is the way of the resistence and we follow in its wake step after step," Barduan added.

The June abduction of the three teenagers from a hitchhiking stop in the southern West Bank sparked a huge Israeli arrest campaign in which more than 400 Palestinians were arrested and at many others brutally martyred by settlers, including teenager Mohammad Abu Khdeir who was burnt alive.

It also led to a surge in tensions that helped trigger the 50-day Israeli war in Gaza, which started on June 7 and ended on August 26.
