Russia Supports Iranˈs Right for Enrichment: Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a joint press conference with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif declared Kremlinˈs support for Iranˈs nuclear enrichment program.

Russia supports continuation of world powersˈ talks with Tehran in a balanced approach to put an end to international concerns over Iranˈs nuclear issue and in the meantime to remove anti-Iranian sanctions, he noted.

Lavrov referred to Iran-Russia cooperation in the Caspian Sea and called this sea as the sea of friendship.

Prospect of Tehran-Moscow relations is brilliant and the two countriesˈ trade ties are not against any third state, he added.

The official called for resolution of Gaza problems based on the UN Security Council resolutions and voiced hope for termination of violence in Syria and Iraq by the help of regional states and international organizations.

Zarif arrived in Moscow early Friday morning for talks with the Russian officials.

Zarif had on Thursday morning left Tehran for Ankara to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after which he left for Moscow.
