Syrian Army Sets up Checkpoints in Mleiha, Environs

Syrian army continues on Friday to establish checkpoints in Mleiha town in East Ghota after expelling militants from the area and its environs.

Original residents of Mleiha started to return to their properties after the success of the military operation carried out by the army, while more fortifications and tunnels set up by armed groups are being unfolded.

In the meantime, army units on Friday continued launching counter-terrorism military operations across the country, eliminating and injuring scores of terrorists with their weapons and vehicles, state-run SANA news agency reported.

An army unit frustrated an attempt by a suicide terrorist to blow up a car bomb near the Radio and TV Broadcasting Station in Ayash town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

A source in the northeastern province told SANA reporter that members of the army unit repelled the bomber who was driving a van, that was packed with explosives, and heading towards the broadcasting station.

The army members managed to destroy the car bomb without causing any damage to the station, the source added.

In Deir Ezzor city, units of the army killed scores of terrorists and destroyed their weapons and ammunition in several neighborhoods.

A source at the governorate told SANA reporter that scores of terrorists were killed and injured in al-Sinaa, al-Rushdiyeh and al-Haweiqa neighborhoods in the city and destroyed their vehicles and weapons.

In Homs countryside, the Army units also destroyed an eavesdropping station in Arshouneh village and an armored vehicle with all terrorists inside in Ein Hussein area.

In a statement to SANA reporter, a military source said that the army units targeted terrorists in the areas of Salam Sharqi, Rahhoum and Um Sahrij, and the surrounding area of Ahmad al-Khateeb School, the Industrial School, al-Za’afaraniyeh clinic and al-Malaab al-Baladi area in al-Rastan.

The army also killed terrorists, injured others and destroyed vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in al-Waer, al-Farhaniyeh, the surrounding area of al-Zamamir Mosque in al-Ghajar village, and in al-Agha village in Hessiya, Kherbet al-Mira in al-Qsair countryside, and al-Taliyleh area in Palmyra countryside.

The army units killed and injured many terrorists in a number of villages and towns of Daraa, destroying the cars they were using, some of which equipped with heavy machineguns.

A military source told SANA that the army units pounded terrorists’ gatherings and vehicles in al-Yadoudeh, the area surrounding al-Hrak old mosque and in al-Thoriyeh hill in Nawa area in Daraa countryside, killing and injuring scores of them.

The source added that other army units targeted a terrorists’ convoy in Khurbet al-Teira, inflicting heavy losses upon them.

Meanwhile, an army unit foiled a terrorists’ attempt to sneak from al-Yadoudeh into al-Zattar hill, killing and injuring a number of them.

The army units targeted terrorists’ dens and gatherings in Aleppo and its countryside, killing and injuring many of them.

A military source told SANA that the army units killed and injured a number of terrorists in al-Sheikh Lutfi, al-Rashaf, al-Shqaeif, al-Emadi, al-Zbdiyeh, al-Dawameh, al-Ekard and Zaido.

Other army units destroyed a number of terrorists’ cars equipped with heavy machineguns in Hreitan, al-Atareb and al-Jandoul in the countryside, killing and injuring scores of terrorists.
