Lebanon’s ISF Raids Hotels Near Duroy Attack Site in Beirut

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau raided on Thursday hotels in the capital of Beirut a day after a suicide bomber blew himself up at a room in Duroy Hotel.

According to media reports, the IB raided Ramada Plaza, previously known as As Safir Heliopolitan Hotel, which is across the Duroy Hotel, in search for suspects.

Al-Manar TV correspondent reported that Ramada managers asked the administrative staff to leave the hotel as some guests are leaving their rooms as well.

Local media outlets reported that two people were detained during the operation in Ramada Plaza.

The suicide bomber of Wednesday detonated his explosives belt during a security raid and died in the blast. Another man was wounded and was being questioned by security agents at a Beirut hospital. They are both security citizens who entered Lebanon with Saudi passports on June 11.

Wednesday attack was the third suicide bombing in Lebanon in less than a week.
