Syrian Army Escalates Operations in Aleppo

The Syrian army continued Monday crackdown on terrorist groups through large-scale operations against their dens and hideouts in several provinces.

In Aleppo, army units targeted terrorists' gatherings in al-Jandoul, Mare', Tal Qarah, Hreitan, Handarat, al-Mansoura, Khan al-Asal, Rasem al-Abboud, Jdeideh, Kweiris and Hanano, killing many of the terrorists and injuring others.

Army units also targeted terrorists in Tal Rifaat, Hayyan, Daret Ezza, Tal Jabin, Babis, the industrial city, al-Lairamoun, al-Mislmiyeh, Dahret Abed Rabbo, al-Sheikh Said, al-Rashidin, al-Zahra, Qadi Askar, Karem Myassar, al-Marjeh, Bustan al-Qaser and Bustan al-Basha.

In Daraa, a military source told SANA that army units killed and injured a number of terrorists in Tal Ahmar Sharqi and to the south east of Etman town, al-Kasarah area on Zemrin-Samlin crossroads and al-Bagabijeh neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad.

The army units also destroyed a van with all the terrorists inside it in al-Dawayeh al-Kabira village in the western countryside of Daraa, the source added.

The army units targeted terrorists' cars convoy near al-Karek village and destroyed a number of cars with all the terrorists inside them. A car equipped with heavy machinegun in Etman village was also destroyed.

In Homs countryside, army units targeted armed terrorist groups in al-Ameriyeh, Ein Hussein, in Talbiseh, killing and injuring a number of their members.

Another army unit killed and injured all members of an armed terrorist group in the southern entrance of Taldao village.

Earlier on Monday, a terrorists' mortar shell landed on a domestic diesel tank that is placed on a house roof in the industrial area in Damascus without causing causalities, a source at Damascus police command said.

The source added that thick black smoke was ascending due to the shell.

An army unit discovered a 300-meter long and 14-meter deep tunnel in Harasta town in Damascus Countryside, while chasing down terrorists, a military source told SANA reporter.

The source added that the tunnel is equipped with lighting and ventilation systems, pointing out that the army unit members managed to dismantle a number of explosives.
