A unit of the Syrian armed forces released Monday 48 kidnapped civilians and military members, including officers, in al-Tabqeh area in Raqqa province.

The release of the citizens, who had been abducted by the armed terrorist groups, was a result of a special operation by the army members, which came in the framework of the state’s continued efforts to find out the destiny of abducted civilians and military members and release them.

The Syrian Army on Monday continued its large-scale operations, targeting terrorists' dens and gatherings in several areas around the country.

An army unit foiled a terrorist group's infiltration attempt into al-Sheikh Said area in Aleppo city, killing many terrorists, injuring others and destroying a machinegun-equipped car.

A military source said that army units inflicted heavy losses upon terrorist groups during targeting their gatherings and dens in the surrounding area of the central prison, Hayyan, Hreitan, Jbeileh, the Free Zone, al-Miselmiyeh, al-Sakhour, al-Halawaniyeh, Jabal Bdour, Tal Shaer, al-Sukkari, al-Oeijeh, Handarat, Bani Zaid, al-Salehyeh, al-Shurfa al-Safra, the surrounding area of Kweiris, Rasm al-Abboud and Erbid.

The source added that e Abdul Wahhab al-Dehni and the terrorist nicknamed Abu Qaoud were identified among the killed terrorists.

In Idleb countryside, army units targeted terrorists' gatherings in the surrounding area of Abu al-Dohour, Om al-Karamil and Sleijineh, killing big numbers of them.
