The Lebanese army detonated on Monday a booby-trapped car found in a bystreet between Fakiha and Ras Baalbek in Bekaa.

Al-Manar correspondent said the army opened fire on the 4x4 vehicle, of Grand Cherokee model.
Our correspondent reported that the driver of the car escaped.

He added that the explosive materials are estimated to weigh around 170 kgs.

The incident took place a day after a suicide attack suicide bomber blew up himself in the Bekaa town of al-Nabi Othman leaving two martyrs and several injuries.

The car used by the suicide terrorist was also of Grand Cherokee model.

Earlier on Sunday Syrian army captured Yabroud, a former terrorist bastion in Syria near the Lebanese border which Lebanese security forces have said that many of the car bombs used in previous suicide car attacks originated from it.
