Syrian Army Kills Nusra Commander in Aleppo, Foils Attack on City’s Central Jail

The Syrian army foiled a militant attack on Aleppo central jail, according to Al-Manar Website correspondent.Syria Army

Nusra Front as well other terrorist groups launched aggressive attacks on the jail's guards, using all means, including suicide bombings; however, the Syrian army repelled them, killing and wounding dozens of the terrorists.

The correspondent also denied all the rumors that were circulated by media outlets about the control of the militants over the jail.

Units of the Syrian armed forces thwarted an attempt by a number of armed terrorist groups to attack the Central Prison of Aleppo, leaving a large number of their members dead and wounded, SANA reported.

The commander of Nusra Front in Aleppo, Saifallah al-Shishany  was killed, according to Syrian military sources.


Clashes erupted between the Syrian army units and several armed terrorist groups in the neighborhoods of al-Orfi, al-Jbeileh, al-Rushdiyeh, al-Ommal, al-Hweiqeh and Nazlet al-Rdeisat in the city of Deir Ezzor.

The clashes resulted in the killing of scores of terrorists, including Tunisians, and the destruction of a number of their vehicles and weapons.


A unit of the Syrian armed forces confronted an armed terrorist group that tried to infiltrate al-Bayader area in Maaloula in Damascus Countryside, leaving all of its members dead.

The Syrian army eliminated members of terrorist group in al-Zara farms in Homs countryside.
