G5+1 meeting with IranThe European Union foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, said Sunday that Geneva talks on the Iranian peaceful nuclear program was 'constructive' following three days of negotiations.

Ashton also stated that senior officials from the five permanent member-states of the UN Security Council and Germany (G5+1) will meet again on November 20 in Geneva in an attempt to conclude an agreement with Iran over its nuclear program.

The EU official added that the six major powers failed on November 9 to reach a preliminary agreement on Iran's nuclear program after three days of talks concluded at dawn Sunday.

Ashton described the Geneva talks as "constructive... and achieving significant progress but still some unresolved issues."

For his part, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian foreign minister, said he hoped to reach an agreement in the next meeting, stressing that he did not feel disappointed because of failure to reach an agreement with the G5+1.

"We have had some intensive negotiations and discussions and our goal is to reach a conclusion and this is what we will come back to try to achieve," Zarif added.
